Are you after the perfect wedding ring? Does it even exist? And if it does, will it break the budget?
What great questions! We’ve been in the business of selling wedding rings for men for 5 years so we know a heck of a lot about what works and what doesn’t work when it comes to the design and manufacture of a wedding ring.
The simple answer is that no, there really isn’t a perfect wedding ring. And that’s the beauty of it! The wonderful thing about getting to choose a wedding ring for your big day is that you get to show your individuality and choose an accessory that you’ll hopefully wear forever – but which shows off a part of yourself that says “this is me”
Its really important that you start looking early on to get a great idea of what’s out there when you decide on your wedding ring. There are so many different designs that its often quite mindblowing when you do start looking. This particular point is quite simple – you’ve just got to jump on the internet and start looking. If you are looking at wedding ring images you’ll be able to sift through thousands of different designs really quickly and come away with some sort of an idea about what you do and don’t like in a ring.
One of the biggest things you need to think about though is what you want the ring to be made out of. You cant just choose a design and expect that it can be made out of any material you want. The main materials that are used for mens wedding rings are
- Black Titanium
These materials all have very different properties and you cant just make the same rings out of every one of those materials. For example, Gold, Silver and Steel will bend and scratch very easily because they are so soft. Tungsten will not scratch at all, but because it is so brittle it can’t easily be machined into very many shapes. You are quite limited in the designs that you can make with Tungsten.
But a product like Cobalt and to a lesser extent Titanium offers a fantastic compromise. Both of these metals offer high scratch resistance with improved ductility and malleability that makes them great for wedding rings because they are much less prone to cracking and breaking.
